Unlike the usual big game advertisement\u2014not to mention the typical app\u2014 Hallow took a different approach by simply encouraging Americans to pray.<\/p>\n<p>The results have been astonishing. \u201cIt was the most downloads in a single minute we\u2019d ever seen,\u201d Alex Jones, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/person\/alex-jones-08f6\">CEO and co-founder of Hollow<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/256811\/after-super-bowl-ad-catholic-prayer-app-hallow-sees-biggest-spike-in-its-history\">told<\/a> <em>Catholic News Agency <\/em>(CNA) in an interview \u201cWe\u2019re already ranking ahead of Netflix on the App Store charts and Lent hasn\u2019t even started yet.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a phenomenal night. A dream come true,\u201d Jones <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/256811\/after-super-bowl-ad-catholic-prayer-app-hallow-sees-biggest-spike-in-its-history\">told<\/a> CNA. \u201cFor the first time ever during the Super Bowl, we all got to take 30 seconds to give thanks to God.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we were producing the spot we decided really to just focus on making it all about Jesus\u2014just on spending time in prayer with God,\u201d Jones added. \u201cIt was amazing to see how the spot resonated with so many. It was an honor to get to pray together and we\u2019re thrilled to continue to pray together with everyone this Lent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Touted as the top Catholic meditation app with 14 million downloads, Hallow offers peace, improved sleep, and a deeper connection with the divine.<\/p>\n<p>The commercial opened with acclaimed Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg, known for his recent role in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt14439896\/\">2022 film<\/a> <em>Father Stu, <\/em>blessing himself with holy water as he enters a church.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe take this moment to give you thanks,\u201d narrated Wahlberg, as images were shown of a family at the dinner table, friends at a football game, a group of soldiers, and Catholic actor Jonathan Roumie receiving ashes on his forehead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thank you for this time to come together as a family, as friends, and as a country,\u201d the narration continued. \u201cHelp us Lord, especially this Lent, to grow closer to you.
