Jon Bon Jovi<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is one of the most iconic lead singers in the history of rock. His band Bon Jovi has had countless hits and classic songs that are still loved by fans of all ages to this day, like \u201cLiving on a Prayer\u201d and \u201cWanted Dead or Alive.\u201d Unfortunately, Jon has had a few issues with his vocal cords in recent years, and he\u2019s announced that he won\u2019t go on tour unless his singing ability is up to par.<\/p>\n

With recent comments made about his vocal cords at a live event, fans are wondering what it means for the future of Bon Jovi, and the legendary rocker. Here are all the details about the singer possibly calling it a day here.<\/p>\n

Has Jon Bon Jovi Performed in Recent Years?<\/h2>\n

Bon Jovi took the stage on February 2, 2024, as Jon was honored at the MusiCares Person of the Year ceremony. They debuted their new song \u201cLegendary\u201d and played the classic \u201cLivin\u2019 On a Prayer.\u201d He also performed alongside fellow New Jersey legend\u00a0<\/a>Bruce Springsteen\u00a0<\/strong>to play the Bon Jovi classic \u201cWho Says You Can\u2019t Go Home\u201d and The Boss\u2019 \u201cThe Promised Land,\u201d per\u00a0Setlist.fm.\u00a0<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Bon Jovi also went on a huge tour in 2022, and Jon made a guest appearance<\/a> when\u00a0Paul McCartney\u00a0<\/strong>performed in his home state of New Jersey in June 2022.<\/p>\n

His New Album<\/h2>\n

Bon Jovi released their 15th album in 2020, fittingly sharing the name with the year it was released. Jon did tease that they have a new release coming soon. \u201cThe new record\u2019s done,\u201d Jon said at a Pollstar Q&A, per Consequence<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>\u201cWe have a brand new record that I\u2019m very excited about, and the hope is that I get to go out and celebrate it this time, because I\u2019m so excited by it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t share any details about when it will be released.<\/p>\n

Is Jon Bon Jovi Retiring?<\/h2>\n

Reviews from Bon Jovi\u2019s 2022 tour noted Jon struggling vocal cord issues, and he got candid about them in the Pollstar appearance. \u201cI\u2019ve had it become public knowledge now, but I\u2019ve had major reconstructive surgery in my vocal cords, and I never had anything like this ever,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was very difficult this last decade to have to contend with something that was out of my control, which was \u2026 the strong [vocal cord] was literally taking what was left of the weak one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jon said that he was currently working so that he would be able to keep on performing. \u201cSo now I just wanna get back to two and a half hours a night, four nights a week, before I\u2019m gonna go out there on the road again. But I\u2019m confident in my doctor,\u201d he said. \u201cIf I can\u2019t be great, I\u2019m out. And I think that the documentary that we\u2019re about to put out addresses all of that. It\u2019s called\u00a0Thank You, Goodnight<\/em> for a reason. And we\u2019ll determine what happens there.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he\u2019s definitely looking to tour, Jon did admit that he would only do it if his vocal abilities could handle it. \u201cMy health has been the first and foremost topic of discussion, but I\u2019m well on the road to recovery there,\u201d he said. \u201c<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
